Wind Energy

There has been interest in our township of wind energy alternatives that are being discussed. The Planning and Zoning Commission is taking a proactive approach in investigating of how wind energy may affect our township. The next Planning Commission meeting is set for June 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Hall.

Road Repairs

As we are well into the summer, it is likely to see cones and detours in Michigan. Akron Township will have a few of those if we haven’t already.

• Sheridan Road from M-138 to Cass City Rd. will be blacktopped.
• The following roads will be graded with or without stone added:
• Cook Rd. between Hoppe & Ackerman
• Elmwood Rd. between Sheridan & Unionville Rd.
• Cass City Rd. between Thomas & Ringle
• Allen Rd. between Rogers & Kirk
• Clark Rd. between Loomis & Gotham

There will also be road construction in the facility of Forest, Wildner, & Liken Roads. These roads were selected based on the availability of funds, history maintenance and the safety and functional of all users. Thank you for your continuing support of keeping our roads well maintained.
