Fire Protection:Buyer protection is contracted to outstanding local volunteer fire departments The ACW fire department housed again at the Village Hall provides protection for the north part of the Township. The southern part of the Township is protected by the Akron volunteer fire department housed in the Akron Township Hall in the village of Akron. Both departments have purchased new fire engines and tankers in the last 10 years and are staffed with dedicated highly trained local volunteer firefighters. Akron Fire Department:
